Freisian Horses Help with Life’s Changes: Ericka
Intention: How do I deal with the many changes that are happening in my life right now?
Once a long time ago, There was a big grey horse. He was a war horse and he had a horn. His Warrior man took him into battles quite often. He fought very well on the battlefield with his horn and the other horses did not like him for it.
He attended a battle once that lasted for days. He went out at dawn and came back at dusk. His man healed him overnight and by morning he was rested and well again. On the third day, the other horses caused his horn to break off, and he was stunned. He was no longer special or different. He mourned its loss. It was all he could think about. His warrior wanted him in the battle but he wouldn’t go. Day after day, he wouldn’t go.
The battle finally ended and they went home. The horse became depressed, missing his horn. It was the only thing he knew how to use in battle. He focused only on his loss, and, over the months he lost weight, and muscle.
The battles returned and he and his warrior man went back to the battle field. He went back into the melee and noticed the other horses. At first he realized, he was just like them, he wasn’t different at all. As he carried his warrior, he felt exposed, he had no horn and didn’t know what to do. But then he started watching the other horses. He saw how they enjoyed the battle. He watched how they fought and began to copy them. He learned to kick, and strike, to spin, and rear back. He no longer thought about just his horn, but found the excitement of using his whole body to dance the dance of war. His life had changed, and he had found new vigor.
